Bensenville, IL – September 8, 2014 - Central States Trucking (CST), the Midwest market leader in international supply chain trucking and warehousing, has acquired RGL Express (RGL).  The acquisition will allow CST to further expand its portfolio of services to the Northeast Ohio market. 

All of the management, office staff, and drivers of RGL will transition to Central States Trucking and will continue to provide the same high level of service to greater Cleveland marketplace.  CST expects to quickly double its driver base in this new location with the expansion of intermodal service offerings. In addition, CST will be able to provide our existing air and ocean international customers with greater supply-chain flexibility and continuity.

Central States Trucking Expands Operation with Purchase of Transportation Holding Companies Minneapolis, MN and Detroit, MI Divisions previously operated as Agents for TRX Trucking.

The acquisition will result in a substantial increase to CST’s existing infrastructure in those locations.

All of the management, office staff, and drivers of THC in those locations will transition to Central States Trucking and they will continue to provide the same high level of service to the Minnesota and Michigan shippers and receivers as they have done since 2003. CST expects to double its driver base in both locations in the coming months due to the new business brought on by this transaction.

The transaction will provide a platform for CST to expand upon their multi-modal service format which includes Intermodal Drayage, CFS Warehouse, Linehaul and Contract Dedicated Services. Purchases 20 Acres in Will county to Provide Better, More Efficient Service

JOLIET, IL – Central States Trucking (CST), founded in 1980, and currently one of the fastest growing trucking companies in the Chicagoland area, has acquired twenty acres of land in Joliet to improve efficiency and expand its customer base in the region. The twenty acre parcel is located near the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe- Logistics Park Chicago (BNSF-LPC).  Now operating on the site formerly known as the Joliet Arsenal, BNSF-LPC is a multi-modal logistics venture that integrates, with surrounding communities, transportation, distribution and warehousing services.

Meets with Three Illinois Members of Congress

BENSENVILLE – Central States Trucking (CST), one of the fastest growing trucking companies in the Midwest, recently met with three members of the Illinois Congressional Delegation to discuss issues important to the trucking industry. Fred Grane, Chairman of CST, and Doug Grane, President of CST, were tapped to meet with Congressman Peter Roskam, Congresswoman Melissa Bean and Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. on behalf of the Illinois Trucking Association and American Trucking Associations. Central States Trucking employs 300 people and its headquarters are in Bensenville, which is located in the district of newly elected Congressman Peter Roskam. CST visited the nation’s capitol on March 27th and March 28th as part of a delegation of the ITA.

“It is extremely important that one of America’s oldest and most reliable industries has its voice heard in Congress,” said Doug Grane, President, Central States Trucking. “We wanted to make sure our representatives in Congress know how legislation affects our business and the families we employ.”

The Granes touched on policy matters related to taxes, energy and the environment, labor issues and the toll roads. Transportation policy impacts both federal and state government and CST offered their expertise on issues that impact their business and the 300 employees of Central States Trucking. Specifically, discussions focused on discussed organized labor’s card-check legislation, ways to make trucks more energy efficient through tax credits, federal regulations regarding independent contractors (truck drivers), a national standard for bio diesel and state issues such as privatizing the toll roads and the gross receipts tax.
