Central States Trucking (CST) Expands Market Leading Position with Purchase of Kansas City Logistics (KCL)

Oak Brook, IL – October 23, 2017 - CST, founded in 1980, and currently one of the largest intermodal drayage companies in the United States (22 National Offices, with over 1,500 total Employees and Drivers), has acquired Kansas City Logistics (KCL).  KCL is the sixth acquisition that has been completed by CST since it was acquired by Forward Air Corp. (FWRD).

All of the management, office staff, and drivers of Kansas City Logistics will transition to CST and will continue to provide the same high level of service as their customer base have enjoyed for many years. CST expects to further increase its existing driver base in this location in the coming months due to new business brought on by this transaction.

The KCL opportunity provides CST with an expanded footprint in the Kansas and Missouri markets, along with access to several strategic customer relationships. “KCL has a tremendous service reputation in the drayage market and aligns perfectly with CST’s growth vision,” said Ron Vales, SVP of CST.  “We are excited to welcome Craig Swope and his entire team to the CST family.”

I would like to personally welcome all of our new staff members, drivers and customers into the CST family and certainly look forward to working closely with everybody in the years to come.
